FamiljeFärd is a concept for a travel planning service designed to help families discover Stockholm together. The project encourages children to become active participants in planning family trips by making the experience engaging, playful and accessible. Rather than focusing only on efficiency, the service aims to create excitement before the journey even begins.
Overview
During the course Design Methods and Creative Processes, we collaborated with VisitStockholm to explore creative solutions around the theme "Travel without travelling."
The project focused on designing a family-friendly travel planner that encourages children to participate in choosing destinations and activities. The goal was to transform travel planning into an enjoyable experience for the whole family while promoting collaboration, curiosity and shared decision-making.
About the project
The challange
Planning family trips can often be overwhelming and primarily targets parents. Existing travel planners tend to prioritise efficiency over engagement, leaving children with little involvement in the decision-making process.
The problem
Develop a visual identity that feels welcoming, playful and easy to understand. The branding should encourage exploration, appeal to both parents and children and communicate joy while remaining functional and memorable.
