The Ekonomiska museet is dedicated to exploring topics related to economics, finance and society through interactive and educational experiences. As part of a university project, our team was tasked with developing a concept that would help the museum engage audiences across Sweden, with a particular focus on high school students aged 16–18.

Overview

This project was developed in collaboration with the Ekonomsika Museet as part of my studies at Södertörn University. Our goal was to explore how digital design could help the museum reach a wider audience beyond its physical location in Stockholm. Working as a team, we followed a user-centered design process to create an engaging concept for high school students aged 16–18, making topics such as economics, finance and society more accessible and inspiring through a digital experience.

About the project

The challenge was to create an engaging and accessible experience for students who were unable to visit the museum in Stockholm. We wanted to make economics feel more relevant, interactive and inspiring while encouraging young people to explore financial literacy and societal topics before entering adulthood.

The challange

Our team designed a digital concept that extends the museum experience beyond its physical location. The solution focused on creating an interactive and educational platform that allows students across the country to explore economics through engaging content and activities. By combining accessibility with a user-centered design approach, we aimed to make learning about economics more approachable and enjoyable for a younger audience.
